Welcome to Rotary Club of Spring Hill Central

Laurel Predmore President

Presidents Message
Mike Fitzgerald, President, 2010-2011

The Object of Rotary is “to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.” The statement then lists four areas by which this “ideal of service” is fostered: Through Rotary networking we develop bonds that provide the opportunity
for service; the promotion of high ethical standards in business and professional through service in one’s personal, business and community life; and the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace.

The new president of Rotary International, Ray Klinginsmith, is from Kirksville Missouri, a town of 17,000 people. He decided to search for a briefly stated theme that would fulfill two objectives: the first to explain Rotary to non-Rotarians, and the second to validate our work for Rotarians," he said. "The words I have selected to describe Rotary's current mission and to highlight our achievements are what we do best: Building Communities -- Bridging Continents.”

Building Communities -- Bridging Continents is four simple words that explain the objects of Rotary. In building communities we get to create a lot of friends while doing good. With the world going global we need to bridge continents more than ever
.
This year I plan to promote Rotary by teaching Rotary. The 1st meeting of each month will be a theme on a Rotary topic starting with highlights from the 2010 Rotary International Convention.

I am looking forward to serving the members of our club and in following our motto: Service above self.

In your Rotary Service,

Mike Fitzgerald
President 2010-2011

The Four Way Test of the things we think, say, or do:
  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
