Welcome to Rotary Club of Spring Hill Central

Josh Kelly PresidentPresidents Message
         Josh Kelly, President, 2008-2009

Welcome to a new Rotary year. Let’s continue on the great works of this club, begun by our charter president Judy Greene in 1998, and continue on into this and future years.

This year’s Rotary International President DK Lee has adopted the theme “Make Dreams Real” for 2008-2009 Rotary year. I am very excited to have such a great theme to work with and share with newcomers. In the words of DK Lee: "Every Rotarian that we bring into our clubs helps to Make Dreams Real," and "Every single one is another pair of hands, and another mind, and another heart to do Rotary’s work."

The Rotary Club of Spring Hill Central is proud to have supported ongoing local projects such as the development of Rotary Centennial Park, our Annual Halloween Carnival, Coastal Clean-up, Holiday Food Baskets, expansion of the youth programs at the local schools including Interact, and our yearly dictionary project which supplies every third grade student with a dictionary.

We are also proud to have initiated an international project which provides clean water to benefit a village in India. Since its inception, several other local an international Rotary Clubs have joined our effort.

Through these projects and others, the Rotary Club of Spring Hill Central, collaborates with many resources. The most important resource with whom we work are the students through our youth programs. Our collaborations show that we play, work, live and serve Rotary’s most important motto, “Service Above Self.”

To sustain the Rotary family now and into the future, we need to continue to nurture the youth today to grow into successful Rotarians tomorrow. Recognizing and supporting these clubs is an opportunity to encourage youth to work with us in building our future from one generation to the next.

I look forward to being the steward of this club, serving as President for the 2008-2009 Rotary year. Join me in supporting, growing and encouraging the great work of this club as we serve together to “Make Dreams Real” here in our local community and around the world.

The Four Way Test of the things we think, say, or do:
  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
